“Fashion for the people! From Constructivism to Design” was the name of an exhibition held at the GUM department store in Moscow, Russia in October 2017.
The exhibition was held to coincide with the year of the 100th anniversary of the Great October Revolution and featured rare exhibits of Soviet avant-garde from a variety of sources: the archives of A. Rodchenko and V. Stepanova, collections of the ten leading museums of Russia, and the ICIF foundation of architect J. Chernikhov.
All in all, the stands showcased over 40 reconstructions of designs created for theater, sports and fashion based on the sketches and shots of constructivists artists of the 1920s, as well as some more recent designs inspired by Soviet avant-garde.
